Latvia ~ Summer Camp No. 1 – July 2017

2017-08-14T16:03:38+10:00August 14th, 2017|

The first of the Summer Camps in Latvia began with a wonderful burst of joy and enthusiasm. A real breakthrough was having 7 young people from Israel come to the camp. They were from a Messianic Synagogue in Tel Aviv, where I have ministered a number of times. These youngsters came to the camp in order to have a deeper relationship with Messiah Yeshua. They loved the fellowship with the gentile teenage believers.   There were over 80 youngsters at the camp from 7 to 14 years of age, plus the local team of dedicated and spiritual workers. The meetings [...]

Ministry in Ukraine in April – May 2017

2017-03-16T13:22:36+11:00March 16th, 2017|

I would appreciate your prayers very much for my upcoming visit to Latvia and Ukraine, where I will be checking on the orphans to see how well they have coped with the winter, and also conducting outreach seminars for the military, military high schools and basketball teams. In Kiev Ukraine I’ll have the privilege to minister at a Rugby Convention for the Ukrainian Rugby Union where I will have the opportunity to share Jesus with the sportsmen, managers, coaches and officials. This was arranged with the Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Sport on my last visit in October 2016. In Ukraine, [...]

God’s grace to three needy broken little boys – through your kind help

2016-12-20T15:04:44+11:00December 20th, 2016|

Little 4-year-old boy adopted in Latvia Our local managers and teams in Latvia and Ukraine, who do so much practical work to help the orphans in Eastern Europe, never cease to surprise me with their creativity and compassion. These teams of young people visit the orphanages regularly, providing concerts with spiritual value, and take them  all sorts of goods we’ve been able to provide—bedding, clothes, medicines, vitamins and supplements, dishwashers, washing machines, tumble dryers and educational requisites. They also let me know the needs that the children have. We have one team in Latvia and two in Ukraine that are [...]

Latvia ~ Orphans Winter Needs – Jan 2016

2016-10-25T15:06:44+11:00January 28th, 2016|

As we have said in our post for the Ukraine orphans really need urgent help for the Orphans of Latvia and Ukraine in their great need at this very cold time of the year in Ukraine and Latvia. The current temperatures average around -20C (-4F) horrendous, and many orphanages have been penalised for exceeding their electricity usage. We desperately need to meet those heating bills otherwise the power may be cut off. Please help us if you are able. See my seperate report for Ukraine. In Latvia the needs are the same, but the orphanages are more widely spread. The [...]

Feeding The Poor ~ Christmas at Gardene (1)

2016-10-25T15:07:22+11:00January 6th, 2016|

Gardene is a former USSR military-base remote country village in Latvia. The population of the area is less than 2000 people, majority of which lives below the poverty line. A small Evangelical Church with Pastor Marija in charge is reaching out to local community and running feeding center for poor kids. Over 50 kids come to the center daily for their only hot meal a day. Life has never been easy for this small village and the feeding program is struggling to meet its daily challenge to provide food. Remarkably the Lord has sustained the program for the last twenty years. It was nothing other than walk of faith. The church, whose members [...]

Children and the Hopelessness of Poverty in Latvia

2016-10-25T15:04:26+11:00December 2nd, 2015|

Almost seven years have passed since a devastating economic and financial crisis hit Latvia - a nation of ordinary people. The side effects of that crisis are still vivid and very painful for a lot of people. Needless to say the country has suffered much, but a country is made up of needy people, and the people still haven't recovered fully. Probably one of the most painful effects of 2008 financial and economic crisis was and still is, the unstoppable emigration of people. Unfortunately people we are seeing leave the country are the younger generation with young families and the [...]

Odessa Update

2016-10-25T15:09:51+11:00October 30th, 2015|

Arriving in Odessa we were hosted by our delightful friends, Pastor Oleg and Tanya Vasilchuk and their beautiful baby daughter, Abigail. We enjoyed a walk around this picturesque old city filled with historical buildings and landmarks like the famous opera house. Then it was down to business visiting the Youth Gym Club that Oleg created with the homeless teenagers who once lived in the drains under the city of Odessa. A few years ago Oleg led to Christ, the European welterweight kickboxing champion, Igor Manjul, and his wife, Anastasia, who are assets in the church. Igor trains these rugged youngsters [...]

Children Camps

2016-10-25T15:10:17+11:00July 28th, 2015|

Everytime we start planning toward the children’s camp, I feel a slight sense of shiver going through my soul. It has always brought us as a team to the place of complete self-effort bankruptcy and complete and full dependence on God! The words of Jesus “do not hinder little ones to come to Me” always brought us to the place of soberness. How do we plan the program the way that it does not hinder them to see Jesus? How do we present Jesus in a way that they truly experience His presence? How do we preach the Word for them to get a revelation of [...]

Latvian Summer Youth & Orphans Camp.

2016-10-25T15:10:50+11:00July 28th, 2015|

We have had two very busy and powerful weeks of camps. So far we have had two camps back to back. The Children’s Camp and the Teenager’s Camp with over a hundred people in each. Now we have two days break before another camp which is due to start Friday night! It would be wonderful to catch up with a little sleep and other things which have had to go on hold during these weeks. There are no words to describe our gratitude and thankfulness for your support towards these camps. When I see how powerfully and graciously God moves [...]
