Ukraine – A Terrible Crisis

June 14th, 2023|

We trust you are well at this time. Thank you for your generous gifts to meet the urgent needs of many hundreds of orphans and homeless children in Ukraine. Your generosity has encouraged us immensely. The House of Hope in Odessa suffered rain damage in a severe storm. The rain from a severe thunderstorm over Odessa began leaking into the House of Hope kitchen and undermining the foundations of the new building. Upon investigation it was found that the original kitchen foundation, built by volunteers in 2012 in the small two-storey house had this fault. [...]

We trust that you are well at this time and being kept safe by the power of God. Thank you so much for your support and your prayers that have kept the House of Hope and the children safe. From reports in the Odesa media and also the Ukraine official media outlet the invading forces are scanning social media for information confirming results of there attacks and to adjust their tactics. They have also been posing as representatives of foreign media for the same purpose. With this in mind we will not publish on the website photographs that [...]

Timely Ministry to Refugees in Norway and Germany

November 1st, 2022|

Sasha and I were in Norway recently looking for accommodation for the House of Hope youngsters, in the event that they should have to move there. We have found out that not all the Village buildings have to be demolished. There is a possibility that they can relocate to other buildings in the village. We have also found out that they have an extension to April 2023 and then can be relocated to Norway if there is the need. Please pray that all will work out for them not to have to move. The ministry to the refugees in [...]

Ukraine – More than Just Surviving

July 21st, 2022|

Thank you for your effective prayers and wonderful support for the huge needs in Ukraine at present. You are keeping poor elderly people alive, providing safety in the House of Hope for people whose homes have been bombed, enabling us to house and protect orphans who have had to leave their orphanages in areas that are now under Russian control, and also evacuate so many to safety in Germany and Norway. Ever since this outrageous war broke out in February, our local teams in Odesa have been driving the two big cargo vans to many of the villages to [...]

Victories in the midst of War in Ukraine

June 10th, 2022|

I trust you are well and being kept by the power of God. Please accept my apologies for not writing earlier. I have been travelling in Europe for the last two weeks encouraging our leaders and checking on the House of Hope Children all of whom are out of Ukraine (except for the three 18-year-old boys who were eligible for military conscription – I’ll tell you about them later). Visit to Düsseldorf, Western Germany Thank you for your very generous gifts for the homeless children of Odesa now in Düsseldorf. They are still a little lost, living away [...]

News from Odesa & more

May 9th, 2022|

Since Dave wrote this on the 5th May the attack on the Odesa region and Odesa itself has intensified. The attacks are being carried out by rockets, missiles and drones together with the occasional shelling from vessels in the Black Sea. We do not have any reports of casualties around the area of the House of Hope. We continue to withhold publishing images of people etc. for security and privacy of all. The last few days were a frightening time in Ukraine. It was filled with challenges beyond anyone’s abilities to handle. Yesterday, several missiles hit the city [...]

News from Odesa, Ukraine

April 7th, 2022|

Since February 24th when the Russian Federation invaded the Ukraine we have purposely held back from posting any detail on the web site so that we could help preserve the safety, security and privacy of all peoples that we have been involved with. Much information has been emailed to the precious followers and prayer partners of the ministry. We feel that now is the right time to share through the web site some of the activity since February 24th. If you are led to support the work of the ministry the appropriate secure “links” are on this page and [...]

February Update from the House of Hope

February 18th, 2022|

We trust that you are well and being kept safe by the power of God. Thank you for your support and prayers for the Homeless Children and Orphans in their time of great need in Ukraine, and the finishing of the work on the House of Hope, before the war with Russia breaks out. Some people who have said, "What a terrible time for the children in the House of Hope to be so close to the goal of finishing the new big building, only to have the terrors of war bursting around them." We and our leaders at [...]
