Our Dear Friends,

We thank you so much for your wonderful friendship and partnership in the gospel.
Bless you for your very kind help and support for the crushed and needy children of Ukraine. We do appreciate your faithfulness. We’ve been able to keep our focus on the needs of people that are growing worse in the horrific war situation in Ukraine.

Russia (and China) and the Wars in Ukraine and Israel

Rebekah Koffler, a former US Department of Defence intelligence officer and Russia expert, has said she has solid evidence of Moscow officials being involved in Hamas’ terrorist attacks on Israel. She added that the Kremlin is satisfied with the results of the attacks.
Just a few days ago, a senior Hamas official, Ali Baraka, told a Russian state TV channel that the attack had been secretly planned for two years with only Hamas partners and high-ranking terrorists knew about it. This precise planning succeeded in blinding Israel’s military and intelligence forces. Shortly after the attack, officials in Moscow called their counterparts in the Hamas terror group and thanked them for an excellent operation that distracted the world from Ukraine.

This cooperation is a strong indication of the change in Putin’s operating patterns and his support for Hamas and is dictated by the defeats in the war in Ukraine. This completely changes the course of the Kremlin and provides new data for intelligence work.

Senior Hamas official Khaled Mashal has told Egyptian TV, “The Russians told us what we did on October 7, in attacking unarmed Israelis, will be taught a lot in their military academies from now on. Our actions in Israel benefit the Russians because it diverts US attention from Ukraine. The Chinese are considering similar action now against Taiwan.”

Ukraine is still being hammered.

Jens Stoltenberg, the NATO Secretary General and the past prime minister of Norway, has said, “There are no signs Russia is planning for peace. On the other hand, Russia is planning for a more offensive war.” In the Odesa province, the Russians have destroyed the power stations. A factory near the House of Hope has been obliterated. The Russians are now destroying all the energy structures. It’s going to be another long, cold winter.

Russian Instability

It was reported about 2 weeks ago that Putin collapsed in his office having a severe heart attack. His guards flustered around him not knowing what to do. Doctors arrived, and it was said that they revived him. The report said that it is known that he has cancer, and this has added to the concern about his life. The there is the ‘election’ coming up alongside a reported increasing dis-satisfaction amongst the Russian people.

In war, it can be advantageous for conflicting parties to deliberately spread misinformation to strengthen their own position or weaken that of the opponent and thus becomes difficult to discern the full truth from which ever source. Our truth, is God’s word – the Bible and our trust is in Him.

Our continued prayer is as Jesus taught the disciples:

“Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:9-10 [NKJV]

Pray for Ukraine

From reports in the Odesa media and also the Ukraine official media outlet the invading forces are scanning social media for information confirming results of there attacks and to adjust their tactics. They have also been posing as representatives of foreign media for the same purpose. With this in mind we will not publish on the website photographs that either identify people or locations, similarly towns, other than those regularly mentioned by the media will not be named. Some names have also been changed in this report.

If you receive a direct copy of our news letters please do not re-publish any part to social media. Thank you for your understanding.

Meeting Refugees in Norway

A couple of weeks ago, I was speaking at a Sunday evening service in Trondheim, Norway, when Laryssa, the matron of the Disabled Baby Orphanage in Odesa, and her husband, Viktor, walked in. They and their family are so grateful for a safe move and free accommodation. I believe that their documents and resumes are currently being processed. There are three doctors in their family who are ready to serve and minister to the many refugees living in that area. They look so relaxed and relieved after all the stresses of managing the baby orphanage while Odessa was being bombed, and all their financial savings being depleted. Half the baby orphanage had been evacuated to Lithuania with some of the staff in charge.
They left the baby orphanage in the good hands of the remaining staff.

The next morning, I was privileged to lecture the students of the Betel Church Bible School on how the Gifts of the Holy Spirit should operate in the church and outside the church, showing the love and mercy of God, and his healing power to the non-believing public. Nothing captures the attention of a non-believer like a healing or a miracle that comes wrapped in the love of God to bring them to Christ.

Melitopol Group set to become leading Christian Music Group in western Norway.

You may remember the Melitopol Church music group who had a perilous experience escaping from the Russian troops who occupied their church building and put them through a horrendous and embarrassing interrogation. They escaped with their lives but endured days being shot at by Russian tanks and troops while making their escape to our House of Hope in the Odesa province. We evacuated them to Norway where they immediately made an impact with their singing and musical ministry. The first time I met them, they asked me to teach them how to lead people to Christ through their ministry. We provided them with an old Peugeot van and monthly support for their ministry. Since then, they have been singing in churches on the West Coast between Trondheim and Molde with great impact. They are still amazed that we help and support them. They keep saying they’ve never seen such generosity and concern, even when we pay for an inexpensive pizza meal for them.

Marina is finally in Germany.

You’ll remember that we asked for prayer for Marina’s release from the Polish orphanage. After paying the money to the Polish officials and sending Esther to get the final release papers, we thought were all ready to go. Then Esther had to bring Marina back to Odesa to get her a Ukrainian passport to enter Germany. There was more paperwork to complete, and more waiting in long lines for the release papers to remove Marina from Ukraine. However, all this finally came together, and Marina is now with her older brother and sister and the other children of the House of Hope in Düsseldorf.

worshipThe House of Hope youngsters living in Germany are doing so well and fellowshipping in the local churches where they have learnt to worship according The old houseto the Psalms, which is quite beautiful to watch.

They will have to leave the big old house in which they are living because the lease is up next April. They have moved so many times and are weary of the fact they haven’t been able to settle down. Please pray for us to find a big house where they can live permanently, without being shunted around, even if we have to buy a place for them in Western Germany. They dream of a permanent dwelling which they never had, being abandoned in the ghettos of Ukraine, other than the House of Hope near Odesa.

Our Rescue work goes on

Finances are running low due to the huge amounts we’ve had to outlay in providing food and medicine packs, Bibles to so many devastated families, and then making provision to evacuate many more to safety. Please continue to help us if you can.

We are expecting a deluge of people flowing to the House of Hope for refuge in the next major onslaught of the war that is coming, either to live there or to be evacuated to Norway or Germany. We still have a wonderful supply of pure water in the well at the House, but we’ll still need to purchase a large supply of firewood for the icy winter.

These refugees include orphans, homeless teenagers, elderly and infirm people, poor people, and single mothers with 3 to 5 children whose homes have been bombed and many of whom lost their husbands in the war.

You are heroes in helping us to do this. We appreciate your friendship and partnership in the Gospel immensely. Please continue to stand with us in prayer and support for these needs. We couldn’t have managed without you.

The winter has already started in Odesa, this was in central Odesa a few days ago (late November). The fallen trees etc are from storm and snow damage.

At the beginning of the month the city was able to see the Northern Lights one night.

“…. the Lord said in his heart….. “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease.”

Genesis 8:22
