Ladies meeting at Taigum Gardens
In May I had the privilege of sharing a PowerPoint presentation of the orphans we support in Latvia and Ukraine, with the ladies’ prayer group led by Beth Irvine & Olwyn Westbrook at Taigum Gardens, Brisbane. What a powerhouse for God these ladies are, who are committed to praying for God’s servants and His work. I believe that Mary Queen of Scots would have said regarding these ladies, what she said about John Knox the great Scottish reformer. “I fear the prayers of John Knox more than I fear the armies my cousin, Elizabeth of England”.
Bridgeman Downs Ladies Meeting
At the end of June Margurita and I shared a similar PowerPoint presentation about our orphanage support work with the ladies meeting at the Bridgeman Downs Baptist Church north of Brisbane. What a delightful time of fellowship and sharing. These ladies are also committed to prayer, as well as making knitted clothes and blankets for little orphan children and babies.
Holy Trinity Anglican Church, Kawana Waters
I enjoyed Two Sunday afternoons in May and June, and a Saturday evening Church Dinner sharing with this wonderful Anglican Church led by Rev Steve Wockner, on the Sunshine Coast north of Brisbane. They enthusiastically desire the presence of the Holy Spirit to be manifest in their church services. They have a project called “Unstopping the Ancient Wells” – as Isaac, Abraham’s son, in the book of Genesis, opened up the ancient wells that had become blocked with debris, when he needed wa-ter to nourish his flocks. These Anglicans were thirsty for the presence of the Holy Spirit to be released in their midst, for the church to become nourished and empowered with the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It was easy to minister to these delightful people on how to be filled with the Holy Spirit, have His gifts operating through them and to have boldness and power to share Christ with others.
