We support
an orphanage in Pacevo, which is near Belgrade of 90
crippled and retarded children as well as 110
children who are not crippled. I have just found out that
this precious orphanage has the 100 extra able-bodied
children, when they sent me a photo of the children expressing
their gratitude for financial help we've just sent
for food and schooling requisites. The needs
here are just as great as the other orphanages that we
support in Eastern Europe and Lebanon. Please include these
dear children and their carers in your prayers.
In
December last year, with the help of friends, we sent
a container of children's and women's clothes, shoes,
blankets and toys - worth about $130,000 AUD. It was
a battle getting this to them, but so worth it. The director
of the orphanage didn't believe I meant my promise to
help them and was amazed when it arrived. She wrote and
said that the supply was more than they needed, and could
they share the goods with two refugee centres and 5 churches
where people who were bombed out of their homes, are
living in the churches. When she did so, the pastors
and supervisors of the centres asked who had sent the
clothing and blankets. She replied that an Australian
man had done so. All of them have asked me to come and
share with them as to why we did what we did. Here's
an opportunity for approx 3,500 needy people to hear
the Gospel. Terrific! I plan to do that in March. Please
pray and stand with us for this amazingly fruitful project.
Any financial help you can give will help so many needy
people and children in this context, and facilitate
their salvation.
