Spain
I ministered in some very needy places - two churches, The Ark Christian Fellowship and the Evangelical Christian Church in Calahonda, who are moving from being comfortable clubs and become rescue stations. I had a great time of teaching at Youth With A Mission in Torremolinos near Malaga, on the gifts of the Holy Spirit in evangelism to the teams who are planning ministry into the Sahara region of Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia.
Some one gave me their time sharing week in that area of Spain while I was ministering there. I had three days after the ministry to relax but God had other things brewing. I was contacted by the sales lady of the Dona Lola resort who wanted me to buy time sharing there. I was able to avoid that pressure by telling her I travelled most of the time to minister in many needy and broken countries of the world where we supported many orphanages. Her name was Grazyna, She is Polish and has lived in Spain for a few years.
I had an appointment with her at the resort restaurant and she asked what motivated me to do all the stuff we do - ministry, churches, seminars, sports chaplaincy and the support of the orphans.
I shared my testimony with her and how we did a lot of lay ministry while in business in SA and Rhodesia, and then were led by God to move out and do it full time. Today the size of what we do makes us depend on God and His love motivates us. She was amazed and said, "I would like to have this love. My life is devoid of this kind of love. Like others I live for self."
This was the reason I had to stay on the extra days was for the appointment with the. She came to the Lord that morning. Within 30 minutes she was praying and committing her life to Jesus. I asked her to pray quietly as we were in a public place of her work, but she prayed out aloud - no embarrassment at all. She then asked, "What do I do now? Go to church? Read the Bible?" The rest was easy. I told her of a great Spanish speaking church in her area where I had ministered in the past. The pastor and his wife have already started following her up as she lives close to them.
Holland
It was a short one hour flight from London Gatwick to Amsterdam to minister in a sweet church - the Keilah OTwG Church in Veenendal, where the pastor's wife (a youngish lady) had died a few months ago. This horrendous experience almost shattered them all. They are struggling and need help and direction. The ministry of God's word and the prophetic word touched their hearts and gave them hope for the future. It's a joy to work with them to help them to be a rescue station in that very dry land. By the way, when you ask these people what the OTwG means, they say, "One Way to God, of course - are you on it?" What a great witness.
England
I had a very precious meeting at the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Bath, on a Monday night at the Limpley Stoke Hotel. Seven people came to the Lord during a wonderful meal and a time of sharing who Jesus is. It was worth the hectic drive from Brighton on the motorways to get there, and then driving back the same night - about 360 miles in all. It was worth it, God's kingdom grew that night.
It is always a wonderful privilege to share with the A10 Mission Church, in Standon, Hertfordshire - north of London. They are a precious mission congregation who certainly are a rescue station in every sense of the word. They were greatly encouraged at the ministry of the word and hugely encouraged me too.
The New Life Church in Wimbledon provided a wonderful opportunity for me to minister the Word to them one Sunday just recently. This was a time of great blessing and challenge.
A two hour drive across Kent one Sunday, took me to the Deal Pentecostal Church to share with a precious congregation who can take any challenge in the book. It was great sharing 'Remembrance Day" with them, especially remembering what Jesus had done in laying down His life for us. The whole congregation gathered at the front of the church to receive a fresh touch from the Lord.
Scotland
On a cold Friday in Drymen just south of Loch Lomond I had the joy of sharing at an Outreach Dinner (hosted by Mike and Jinty McKirdy) which was attended by some 85 people. My colleague, Peter Wallace, a worship leader from a church in Canterbury, accompanied me and blessed the people with his singing ministry. Seven need people came to the Lord that night. On the Saturday morning we enjoyed sharing at a Business Men's Fellowship breakfast in Kilsyth on how to win those close to you to Jesus. The Sunday morning service at which Peter and I ministered was hosted by the wonderful Renfrew Christian Centre near Glasgow.
