Wonderful Mission in Latvia
I had the joy to minister in many needy places in this nation -
The Russian Word of Truth Church in Riga hosted a wonderful Saturday seminar on Evangelism using the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. This was attended by so many pastors and leaders from around the country who were hungry to learn how to use the supernatural power of God in their ministries and churches. God's presence touched and refreshed so many weary leaders
The Sunday morning service was attended by a very enthusiastic crowd which included the past minister of health, Gunar Latmenis whom I was privileged to help to the Lord some 10 years ago.
I enjoyed an afternoon of wonderful fellowship with Gunar whom I believe God is preparing for a very influential ministry.
Sasha Rodionov, the youth pastor and my manager, hosted an amazing youth meeting. They turned the church into a TV studio with a Master of Ceremonies firing questions at me concerning my commitment to Jesus, my daily walk with Him and my ministry. The young people were then invited to ask questions which resulted in an altar call.
Many teenagers came to the Lord that night.
The New Life Church in Bauska hosted a wonderful midweek meeting that had a tremendous warm response.
I was warmly welcomed by the prisoners of the maximum security Jelgava Prison for a great meeting and time of fellowship. Over some 8 years so many have come to the Lord and are serving him in the prison in a powerful way.
I visited the prison workshop and teaching school that we have been privileged to finance over the years. This has helped the men to become equipped for a trade and get a job when they leave the prison.
One of the long term prisoners, Arnis, now 49, was released from prison last year. He served a 19 year drug related sentence. Arnis got involved in a Latvian government scheme helping young people off drugs to the extent that the government gave him a prestigious award for his changed life and contribution to society. He wrote a book on his experiences in which he has honoured God for his achievements and his victory over drugs.
I was there to visit some of the orphanages including the very first orphanage we supported in Latvia, the Bulduri/Spriditis Children's Home. Some of the children were sick and I was able to spend time praying for them and assessing the medicines they will need for the winter before the snows start falling. It was very cold while I was there but it will get colder soon as the snows sweep in.
Please pray for these needy children
