We seek your continued prayer and support for the ministry in Latvia, the Ukraine, Lebanon and Serbia, where we minister the Gospel and humaniatrian aid to the poor and needy as well as support 4,200orphans in 32 orphanages. Praise God for his trust and strength for the ministry to keep up this work, and the young lives that are growing under His care.

Our missions to Serbia and Lebanon have revealed the desperate conflict that has occurred there and whilst buildings will be repaired or demolished from sight,there will be continuing scars with the people. Many children are now in orphanages, a high percentage with Aids.

Smethurst Ministries conducts regular missions into these depressed or war-torn nations with Bibles, medicines, blankets, clothing, shoes, toys and relief supplies for the poor and orphans. The children come to Jesus very easily as well as the older people who have nowhere else to turn for help. We minister into many very disprivileged church groups right across the spectrum of Christianity - training them in evangelism and helping them to reach the unchurched around them and grow the church to make an impact on the nation. We minister into refugee camps, to youth camps, prisons and youth corection centres and find huge needs to meet in these contexts.

This is a joyfully draining and heart-breaking ministry, but worth it - eternally. So many thousands have come to the Lord over the years in these nations. Many have risen with God's help to live fruitful lives which has been a huge witness to many against the backdrop of poverty. Over 13 years of supporting orphans we've seen so many grow up in God's grace and become Spirit-filled Chirstians and responsible citizens of their nation.
